It’s that time of the year again, where whole of Kuching are crowded at Dewan Masyarakat MBKS for Kuching’s most iconic event of the year. This month-long food fair introduces not only the city’s local dishes but local dishes from other countries as well.
Do expect prices to be more expensive than usual and taste wise is just so so la. Can get local food cheaper and tastier at kopitiam. However, 2 reasons why I still go back is, 1 to eat those food that I usually only can have during the food fair such as Taiwan sausage, fried quail, fried ice cream..etc. Another reason is to check out what new food invention or food from other countries the locals introduce during that year. This year should be Japan’s famous summer dessert, which is the watermelon ice cream.
Went on the first day, quite bummed out as some of the stalls are still setting up and not open for business yet. But for this first round I tried mostly the ice cream and less savory dishes.
Without further ado, I shall not bore you with more words and indulge your eyes with snap shots I’ve taken from the food fair.

Overall got full from eating too much ice cream so didn’t get to try out the other food stalls yet. Hopefully more to come. Maybe a part 2?
